Aircon Drain

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody has successfully designed an external plastic drain for their aircon.

We have a slide out bedroom and this can create levelling problems at times because of the weight change after the initial setup

and the end result is that we have aircon run off going in any random places....sometimes over the doorway other times down the right side and onto the 240 inlet.

We have an IBIS system and if you could attach a pipe to drain to the ground it would be great.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks Len

I have installed a bund ( catch tray) with a small hose inserted in side of tray draining to the rear on the roof under the multiple drain holes of the ibis aircon. the problem is the aircon drains onto the roof. I managed to find a alloy tray wich did the job and silicone glued to roof.

I don't know if it would work or not but try running a thick bead of silicon around the aircon leaving a gap where you would like the water to go. You could also fashion a drain out of silicon to run it away.

thanks guys,
I like the tray concept, will check it out.
The silicon bead also a go.
I am thinking about placing some silicon where I don't want the water to travel.
Like around the roof area above the door. Then it can go where it wants.
I know that if I raise the nose of the van a few degrees it will drain to the rear.
Just don't quite understand why they don't do something practical during installation.
