cleaning burnt on food

I was just wondering if products with sodium percarbonate in them (nappy soakers) would be ok/good for cleaning burnt on foodstuffs on cooking equipment.

For example WeberQ trivets. I was thinking you could leave them soak overnight???

Cheers John.

I don't know whether nappy soaker would do the trick there or not John.

I once burnt the bottom of a saucepan very badly and put bi-carb soda on it for about 24 hours and it did the job.

If the deposits have been baked on many times you will find that oven cleaners such as Easy Off or any other caustic cleaner will only remove the bits that still have oil/grease in them. The black deposits remaining will be pure black baked on carbon which can only be removed by abrasion....usually steel wool and plenty of elbow grease. Sometimes the deposits are as hard as a porcelain coating.
Good Luck.

I use Bicarbonate Soda and white vinegar works well in loosening burn stuff without damaging surface. Still needs some rubbing but not too hard.

A lot of oven cleaners are very damaging to the surface making harder to clean next time.

Bi-carb soda will do it . let it fester for 24 or so hours. It come off reasonably easy.

Not too much water, just enough to turn the bi-carb into a paste.
