New Iveco daily truck experience

Hi every one.Im just wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about the Iveco trucks. As I'm looking to purchase a truck to tow a 3.5T caravan I'm interested in their reliability.I have narrowed the field down to either isuzu or hino and was leaning toward the new series 300 full auto Hino but tried the Ivecos today so any thoughts on the 2x4 or 4x4 would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, you are in the wrong Forum, but anyway, I have an Iveco Daily Van 2.3 liter diesel, converted into a MH. It's a 2007 model. Great unit. It's a manual/auto so the brake and clutch pedals are combined. Takes a bit of getting used to. As with any modern vehicle today, being all computerised, difficult to get repairs done away from an Iveco Dealer. Services and parts are expensive but I solved that problem by using generics. Not a lot of spare Iveco parts kept in Australia, which means waiting about 2 weeks for delivery from Italy. Iveco is made by Fiat and a lot of parts are interchangeable. Not having the knowledge to compare different types, I would still recommend the Iveco.

I have had mine since xmas , Iveco 70c, done about 4000k's so far. Have a 28.5' motorhome sitting on the back of it , went over the weighbridge 6ton , fuel and water tanks full , still got 1ton to play with . We flat tow a Suzuki behind it and averaged 16.5l /100 on a recent trip to Sydney and return to the Goldcoast . 6 speed automated/manual , I drive it as a manual as the automatic changes are drawn out , ok in the city runs .The only problem I have had was to have a wheel balance as I was getting a vibration up though the steering wheel ,which they paid for , all good now. The first service is 40000K and there after , new synthetic oils and technology , so I've been told but someone will set you straight on this. It is a pleasure to drive , set cruise control and sit back , hills slow it down naturally like all other big rigs but apart from that I'm very happy at this stage. 3ltr turbo has plenty of grunt. If I've left something out that you need to know you can pm me or ask me here . Not on this site everyday. Cheers Mick

Good morning The Doms - it is ok, you won't get into trouble for posting in the wrong area - my post was just so you could go to the right area to get the best information. Just Cruisin posts mainly on the "tech" area, and also in "show us your rig" - he loves his Iveco truck, and would love to tell you about it I think. Hope you get what you want, and enjoy travelling this great land of ours!

Thanks guys. There was a good deal in Melb on a new 2013 iveco 205hp but in the end have decided on the hino crewcab 921because of the 600nm of torque and the torque convertor automatic transmission.I know it will be thirstier and not as comfortable so I hope the positives out way the negatives and I dont regret the decision.
