good luck to all the QLDers and our Nomad family in the forthcoming days - be safe and just ake your biggest moan is that your flip flops floated away:)
Its a real pity all this wet weather isn't getting far enough to inland QLD to help all the drought affected farmers.
In WA, wed be happy with just some decent rain, both on the coast and in the wheat belt area where it is so dry from lack of rain

So scary... hope all of folk up there are ok. Sheba is there, best wishes to you, stay safe. I have family there too, haven't heard from them today, hope that's because they are busy battening down.
What lovely weather for ducks! Seriously though we have been having continuous rain since yesterday, and guess it will continue for a couple more days. The jetty here on Bribie Island has been closed by the authorities and there is minor flooding along the passage due to the high tide. Don't think we will venture over to the beach side though. For everyone in both Qld and northern NSW please take care.
Edit: from 6am yesterday (Thursday) to 5.30am this morning (Fri) we had 90mls, and now to 11.50am we have had another 52ml. Methinks we are for more to come.

Steady rain and some wind all night at Hivesville. Rain has now stopped and wind has died down.
We had 93mls rain overnight and might get a shower or two today, but I think we have seen the last
of Marcia here.
Hope the coastal areas don't get hit too hard.
Dunmowin, you should have some water in those dams now.
View from the house, yes, one of the dams is full, the big one still has a long way to go. We have to walk up the hill to see our cows this morning, owner told us not to even take the 4WD up. We had 67 ml overnight - thought there would have been more.

Has anyone heard from Sheba yet? Where exactly is she?
Hi Dunmowin Sheba lives just outside Yeppoon and My Van lives at Gracemere just out of Rocky. Hope they are both safe and haven't sustained too much damage. Colleen
Maybe you are just as lucky as us In Hervey Bay
Nothing special beside a bit more wind
We woke up again like yesterday with full sunshine
I must say we had a bit of rain overnight
I txt Sheba earlier with no reply. She did have some grey nomads staying there the other day. I think Onto and Joe with numbers after their names.
I did read on one of facebook emergency pages Telstra was allowing free use of their phone boxes as all other communications were out. Guessing they have no phone or internet.
Sandsmere, we went for a drive to Hivesville, thought the markets were on today, but perhaps we missed out. Saw a shed with a caravan, then realised there were lots of blocks with sheds with caravans. which one is you? Big round trip Murgon to Hivesville via Silverleaf, back through Wondai, then up to Boat Mt and home to Manyung. Only one road with water over the road. All creeks running well, area is beautifully green.

Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes. We survived relatively unscathed despite the carnage of downed trees and broken limbs and branches surrounding us. My Hino suffered a broken window, dented awning housing and smashed solar panel, but there were plenty of near misses so I think I got out of it fairly lightly. Still no power but mobile phones and wireless internet were restored late yesterday. Both Sheba and Peter & Sue (Ontos45) are fine.
Cheers
Joe

Thanks for your concern every-one. As you can see, You're not rid of me yet. We are all OK here, Joe50, Ontos45, and myself. Power just came on here tonight a couple of hours ago now. Have had none since last Friday. Therefore, no water, and no phones or internet either. Didn't have reception for Mobiles most of that time too. Sent a couple of messages from the top of the hill at the Emu Park Golf Course. Often seem to manage reception there, when you can't get out elsewhere.
As I've said elsewhere, we had minimal damage here, [if you don't count the number of trees massacred] compared to what happened to others.
Needed traffic lights here some-times, there were so many people coming to check on us all. Police, SES, Red Cross, Fieries, Excell Care, Ergon, and a couple more , but I can't remember what they were called. Sometimes they came twice a day. They were from all over Qld. I think the only ones we didn't see were the Army.
