Hey guys anyone experienced this.... Whilst out and about this past week we ran out of the woolies laundry pre soaker that we use in the toilet instead of chemicals and could only get the Black & Gold Nappy Soaker from IGA. Anyway we discovered that after mixing the powder with some warm water to disolve the granules then adding to the tank, that the mixture continues to give off a gas and that gas builds up in the tank then jambs the waste flap and prevents you from opening the flap to dispose the bowl contents.
It took two empties of the tank to figure this out, after realising it the second time I worked out that you need to untighten the cap on the emptying spout to release the gas. Once the gas is released the waste flap opens and closes as it should and the tank doesn't jamb in its position preventing you from removing it without excessive force.
Conclusion: The Black & Gold nappy soaker isn't as good as the woolies laundry pre soaker, not only does it cause the gas buildup, it also doesn't have a pleasant smell, after 1 day we need to empty the tank again. I'll be going to woolies in the morning to get the right stuff and chucking out the Black & Gold excuse the pun "crap".

The tank has a vent that opens when you slide the cassette back in to its "home"
Our toilet was doing the same as yours and I found the vent was stuck closed so a dismantle and clean now has it working fine.
go to the makers website and look for the diagrams of the cassette to see how it works.
by the way we don't mix the nappy soaker with water, just drop a capful in on top of a number 2 and it works just as well. This way you are not using up "capacity" with water.

I thought it might be the tank, but its new, only got it 3 weeks ago, seals were gone in the old tank and was only $60 extra to get a complete new tank (truth is I didn't want to get my hands dirty replacing seals) so I might need to check with the supplier (caravansplus.com.au) before I start tampering with the valve just in case of warranty issues (if any).
