MCHITCH tow hitch?

Hi all, as you can see I am a newbie to the group. My wife is retiring at the end of the week, and I won't be that far behind.

I have a Jayco Freedom Outback single axle 17 odd foot van, and I want to replace the original treg polyblock hitch which has been on there for 12 years (2002 model van)

Any one had any experience with the Mchitch 3.5 tonne auto couplers? They look good, and easy to hook up for me who needs all the help I can get!

If interested have a look here. http://mchitch.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=14_17

We have had the van for over 2 years, and have not been very far in it yet, but have done quite a few mods so far in preparation.......

Thanks,

Brian

I have the auto hitch on the new van, one person hook up & far better than the previous version to connect.

Hi Brian
In October I had a McHitch auto coupling fitted on my Freelander.I only did one 6000 k trip with it .I found it very simple to hitch up and unhitch.
I have orderd another Freelander and I will have a McHitch fitted to it.
Cheers
Birdo

We fitted one but found it fouled our HR-WDS. Got our money back. Met another guy on the road last year who had trouble with the hitch and last I heard he was trying to get his money back. You may want to search this website for earlier comments on the same topic - I think there is other comments somewhere. If you buy just make sure you can return the product if it does not suit your requirements. I had no problem getting our money back. I still think it is a reasonably good product provided it suits your rig and , in particular, if you are using a Weight Distribution System. Regards Peter

I have the earlier version, the one with the vertical pin. It was fitted to our old van and we've now transferred it to the Sterling. It fits the WDH perfectly and I wouldn't be without it. Absolutely no rattle and totally secure.

When I purchased mine I already new it would foul the WDH.So I spent 3 hrs making and fitting 2 "sliders" the whole setup works even better than before with no "cluncking " on corners etc. Just sooo good ! Cheers John
