The new owners drove away with our caravan today, they will enjoy giving it plenty of work and we are very pleased. Selling the van has been an interesting experience, we first advertised it in November with very few enquiries, then discovered a roof-leak, so withdrew the ad, and booked it in to Jayco to be fixed. Had to put a tarp over it for 6 weeks, spent $400 on a whole roof seal, and advertised it again after bringing it home with its shiny new roof.
Within an hour of posting the ad someone had phoned, and after a long conversation they paid a deposit. Wow, that was fast after such a lot of mucking about! So today it goes to its new home in SA and we have a bare front yard plus some spending money.
Our next nomadding will be by plane, train, and/or ship
So sorry to hear you will not be hitting the road any longer so to speak, just when we are heading your way - ah well, that's life. Enjoy exploring with your new modes of transport.

Hi Gerty, well done on the sale of your caravan.
Due to family health problems and needing to downsize from our small property, we will be selling our caravan and tug and having
smaller trips using cabins, fly drives etc. Hope we can sell quickly. Sad, because some of the best times we had have been on the road somewhere.
Would you mind teling us where you advertised yor van for such a quick sale.

Hi John. That quick sale had to be a freak, we just happened to put it up when somebody who was looking for that precise caravan was looking. And we were prepared to drop the price.
The first time it was advertised we put it on several sites but the only replies we had were from the Gumtree ad. Then we found the caravan roof leaked! . We took all the ads off while waiting for the roof to be fixed, and the night it was sold we had only put it on Gumtree . No time to put up any other ads!
Gumtree is free, but they charge for "bumping" your ad to the top or "featuring" it.
It might be a good idea to try your local paper too.
Very best wishes Jandas fun, enjoy the next chapter of life.
That's interesting because I also advertised my van in November, but had no bites. After coming back from a trip over Christmas, I had three interested parties. Ultimately I sold it just before Australia Day long weekend, albeit I gave a healthy price drop. That was because I was already mentally interested in selling it quickly. The buyers definitely got a great deal on it, and I do hope they get to enjoy its use.
