The kit you are looking at comes from a company that has never had a good review in any of the travel forums I look in on. As a matter of fact lots of very poor reviews of their product.
My advice would be to look at these places which have a record of providing good service, good product and great back up:

see how you go with those places. all of them come highly recommended by many GN's

Ok, thanks Frank. Always on the look out for a bargain BUT get very upset if things don't work!!!!!!!!! I probably should have Googled for reviews. Never occurred to me!!!
would hate to see you get into strife for getting gear that won't work proper. A real waste of time and money that many before you have testified to.
The companies I have mentioned are known to be good to GN's there are some others around if you want more to look at.
I use a tripod so I don't have to get down on my knees or bend over to make adjustments. I can also move it around to get the best signal and when I have that I peg it down.
The satking is the most popular VAST box and the Humax a close second. A digital satfinder will make finding the correct satellite easier too. satplus have a new one just arrived that should prove to be a very good meter.
An 85cm dish will work anywhere in aus and work better in rain than a smaller dish also easier to aim.
anything else you would like to know just ask

we have recently had a Foxtel iQ box with free to air channels plus Foxtel installed at home and we have brought it away with us this time not expecting to much, but guess what we get all the free to air channels and of course the Foxtel rubbish, so no need to use the Vast box again
Thanks exa41, I have iq as well but I have set it up with both decoders, my understanding was your free to air channels were from your home base, so if you wanted local news you couldn't get it on fox. I'm going up the middle later this year so I will also try what you have done, thanks for the reply. One other question single or twin LNB?
With a VAST box you get all the ABC and SBS programmes plus the commercial programmes originating for the area you are registered to receive. As you travel around you need to change your registration if you want the commercial programmes for the local area when you shift into a new region.
