Skid Row Greens Lake.....

Took the grandkids for brief tent experience/ visit to Greens..with my' Prospecting' Horse Float..<folk never touch my prospecting gear as they think I am riding a horse in the Forests>..weather was kind to us yesterday 19th and we did all the usual things by and in the lake...gave the fish heaps of worms they did not reciprocate by being caught...

Strong winds hit about 3 am this morning and I thought at one stage we would be blown off the map in the tent...lucky I had used many pegs in anticipation....decided for the kids sake to cut the visit short by a day...as it did not look like it would improve...saw others leaving as well.....

I did see GN Grahame catch a large carp from the bank this morning...the rough weather was making them bite?...Grahame and Wendy were parked next to us and when I say next to us at about 30 metres away...really nice folk from Ballarat....how good are the camp sites at Greens'?..and everyone so friendly..and all for free......last photo shows Grahame fishing next to that Winnebago on the Bank..his van is to the left of us....

Sorry Doug/Dougwe, saw your van <what a beauty!> near the boat ramp, however I had intended coming to see you this morning, before the winds hit..next time... and I'll bring my Van for a longer stay...

Q: Did someone hit the concrete fixed  table /seats<at least it was affixed!> near the rubbish skips?....if they did I bet they knew they had hit it!....not Dave after eating his evening' red' was it?..!....

Grandkids, swam, fished, flew their plane <which went out into the lake...that's when I had to take a long swim to retrieve, with Grahame laughing from the Bank!> walked the dog and had a ball...I apologise to anyone in earshot for all their noise/squels of delight....many other dogs there I notice....a Shang- ri- la for dogs and their owners...IMO.

If you have to "slum" it in skid row someplace you won't find a better spot than Greens'....couple of photos.....Hoo Roo

Thanks Goldfinger. That was the unluckliest carp in the lake, as my fishing prowess leaves a lot to be desired. Look forward to meeting up again in the future. Happy and prosperous detecting.wink

Shut the front gate!

Geez Goldfinger, I was just up at the back of ya yesterday visiting "Rosa" Rob and Sally. I saw the horse float in front of us too but just thought someone was just horse'n around. Bugga. Rob and Sally's van stands out like a sore toe cos it has all the pink noodles on the guy ropes.

The wind hung around most of the day but did settle late afternoon. Most campers were occupying themselves with indoor activities I think, very quiet indeed.

Glad you enjoyed Greens though and look forward to catching up with you somewhere sometime.

Dave (Glenelg) has fresh supplies of coffee and monkey face bikies now so the "Cafe" will be open for business over the long weekend. He even serves fresh coffee around 11.00pm too. Good bloke is Dave.
