Best and Worts Times of Year to Stay

Hi Green Folk:)

We plan to visit sometime next year after travelling from Perth WA, all through SA and then slowly north.  Dropping in to see my mate (Im his only mate apparently) Tony in Canberra and dropping a few coldies over a steak on the Police Academy BBQ then onwards north.

Are there usually months when Greens is too wet or cold and others too hot - or pretty much ok all year round?

How, Bruce and Bev,

You will find best time is from around October through to March as heaps of great GN members come and go, some stay for a couple or few weeks. The weather is usually warm to hot and can get hotter during February, 40+ a little even. This year the wind gods are pushing their luck but usually good.

If there is a lot of continuous rain it can get very muddy but heaps of spots to set up a little higher around trees or very dry grass. You can also set up lakeside with the water about 3mts away from you but that rain can extend your stay due to mud. It doesn't bother me at all as I have always set up lakeside and sit the mud out if need be. So far that hasn't been done.

Water available fir your tanks and if you filter it from the tap at the toots you can drink it. I have been drinking it for the 3 years i have been coming here with no problems. You will need one of those 4 sided tap keys though.

Winter, well cold and usually wet best describes Greens but like everywhere you get good days and sometimes weeks.

Enjoy.

Hi Bruce and Bev - you will love Greens any time of year - we have left there now, down in Melbourne saying farewell to family and friends before we head north again - have a few weeks in Brisbane (grease and oil change with the quacks), and a couple of things with the motorhome. Then heading to Wuruma Dam, near Monto in Qld, to meet up with friends, and spend a couple of months. We are heading over to WA again maybe May or June or maybe even July. Hope to catch up somewhere along the way.
