Camped near Dorrigo NSW, 13degs outside, now resting on lounge with blanket over my feet trying to get warm and looking to find Gaylehere answer to Pick this Picture.
With all the rain it is a good time to get out & weed the gardens.
Though I think that I'll start by cleaning out the drains as I ponder the catastrophic share markets & try to rationalise my advisor's advice to hang in there & stick to our plan. At least it will get me away from the media & the continual rehashing and examination of the Corona virus issue from every possible angle. They do everything possible to create a panic while all the time saying 'no need to panic'!
Edit ..
Well 5hrs later .. cleaning the drain lead into something bigger. Relaid a section of the plastic box grated drain to improve the run off, which in turn lead to relaying several brick pavers that had been lifted by some tree roots. Luckily I had a bag of premix concrete & half a bag of mortar in the shed. A few years old but probably still good enough for this job.
Almost time now (4PM .=. Drinkies time) for some soothing red medicine to fix the aching joints.
Oh ... the gardens will have to wait until tomorrow.

We have pulled into woodford qld . We have a housesit soon for 5 weeks. Have not heard if they will cancel or not. They are going to england. Am a bit concerned about showgrounds shutting their gates As this virus takes hold. If we get it, where do we self isolate? Few things to ponder.
At Mt Ive Station in the Gawler Ranges, near Lake Gairdner. Working on the property for the lead up to the Dry Lake Racing on the salt lake. Today we heard, due to the corona virus, the races would be postponed..... Buggar, on our bucket list for the past 8 years.
So, now, wondering what we will do next. A geocaching event at Easter is bound to be cancelled as well!

Yes, pondering. However at least we feel ,"self isolated " out here.

In self exile out on The Darling Downs, as each week passes we will go a little further North West.
We are comfortable, weather is good.
====================
We were there A few months ago. Dust n dry as. Looks nice now. Remember to lock up everything each night
Hi Rocket.
Amazing how things change, first couple of nights paid by cash, then after lunch I grabbed another envelope from the box, previous no was 97 and this one is the following one 98. There has been a noticeable increase of traffic into the showground, As cash is a bit short, I decided to pay down at the council office in main street. The man down there was sort of doing the job like a new comer at it and I questioned him, was he new on the job, his reply was "no don't do that many camping fees". Once again not many paying or they have a secrete way of doing it.
But now our peace has broken, the new tenant just behind us has a dog that barks, the gent over there shares his tv volume and the new arrival next door can not string a sentence together without using the f word at top of his voice. If there was no trees between us you could park a semi trailer there, we are not living on there door step. Maybe I need a holiday.

Hi Rocket.
I feel a lot more civilized today, if fact civilized, a real good night sleep, woke to a beautiful sunrise, a cuppa in bed to start the day.
Yesterday was far better, sound of the tv was much lower, the dog only barked a couple of times and the other neighbour went out for most of the day, just perfect.
Today is going to be a little challenging as we need a few items from the food store, mostly luxuries, like beetroot to have on our hamburgers for dinner tonight, bread to make a sandwich.
I am probably luckier then most we have a choice, keep on enjoying staying out in the dry Darling Downs or go home to hot, humid Brisbane. Choices we need to make.
Been working for weeks to get away, caravan out of shed after two years , only to get cancelled by the "C" . Flying Doctor was advised the big "C" will be rampant in the next week and everyone has to stay home . SAD .

Perhaps your fellow travellers are Forum members who read your post & then modified their behaviour. LOL
SWMBO makes the best hamburgers, especially since I started to make our own meat patties. Of course toasting the flat buns & adding beetroot is a must. Just doesn't make the grade without it.
BTW we had to forgo sour cream on our Chilli Cone Cane last night as we didn't have it on last week's shopping list & I declined to go to the shops for just one item. CCC just not the same without sour cream. Just like burgers without beetroot.
Pleasant weather here in Brissy, feels about 23 & like yesterday the brilliant blue has been replaced with an overcast sky.
The weather is not as good today with winds coming from the east and a little south, mild to strong at times and overcast.
See what the next day brings to help me make good decisions.
BW I think I like the idea of going 200ks from the Hill, North would be real good with ute full of provisions.
Cupie, your hamburgers sounds inviting, we had sweet & sour chicken with rice, only because my Darling found a couple chicken breast that was of old stock and need using.
G'Day Radar . I was prepared to Caretake a property for the president of the RFDS whilst they were away sheering in Victoria . But that all got cancelled . I was still going there , but the advice given to the flying doctor was for everyone to stay home , as the Virus will be rampent in the next week . Van at the moment is not equipped with enough solar power to go independent . But could easily fix that if I fell like it . Being a sparky by trade .
Washed the old motorhome, (second time this year), so am expecting a double dose of rain
First time I washed it, in January, I set off, before it had a chance to rain
We just came of Mt Ive Station, 140km of red dirt road, and white clay where they are upgrading the road - and a passed a water truck who was watering the clay..... And it rained. So our car which is blue, was then red, and then pink!!!
So we arrived in Kimba, set up in the free camp while we decided what to do....and it rained more, which set the clay on the van.
So today, John washed the car and caravan in the rain (cos it was raining more)
Now to decide what to do next! So, when we move, we will be on the bitumen for quite a while now, John is totally off dirt road (for the moment)

But I'd still rather be where you are.
John wants to know how SWMBO makes her hamburger patties..... We have been doing so for a couple of years, much better than shop bought ones.

My general recipe ... I usually make it up as I go & substitute where I don't have a particular ingredient ..
About 500 g of top beef mince; At least a similar qty (edit .. by volume)of Panko crumbs rolled;
1 or 2 eggs; 1 or 2 chopped onions;
Good handful of flour ; At least a handful or two finely chopped fresh herbs
eg. Thyme, Coriander, Parsley, Oregano or Marjoram,
Chilli, fresh,flakes or my chilli jam; Ground spices like Cumin, Coriander, salt, lots of pepper;
Lots of Tomato & Holbrooks Sauces; I sneak in a few chopped Anchovies if SWMBO is not looking.
Lots of crushed or chopped Garlic. I far prefer fresh chopped garlic
Sometimes I put in a few glugs of Hoysin or other Sweet Soy and may leave out the salt & use soy sauce instead.
If I use lamb mince I take out the heaver spices and sauces & use chopped rosemary, lots of mint, garlic & thick mint sauce.
I think that you could even use sausage meat as I do when making sausage rolls. In which case I double the panko crumbs, onions, flour & fresh herbs.
Edit 2 .. If it's too wet, I just add more Panko crumbs & maybe flour if I've run out.
That's about all I can remember.
I just use wet hands to make them into compacted balls (throw from hand to hand) & squash them, make them square and place into takeaway containers, separated by baking paper so that I can take out as many as we need.
LAST EDIT I promise ..
Buggar .. Just went out to watch a cooking show with my afternoon red medicine & it reminded me that I have been known to throw in some grated carrots & even grated cheese of whatever sort is in the fridge.

I am starting to realise I am getting older, as at 71.5 years since I was born I am really still only 18 at heart. BUT that causes problems as I lost track of this thread and had to do a search to find it.
So that's what I did today.
Now I am going to cry because I can't write what I've been doing for the last two - three weeks, coz that's not today.
Oh poor fella me!
cheers - Ian

I slowly realise as I get older that I am definitely NOT the fastest rat in the race.
Also the older I get the more I realise I do not know.
