Rocket, Killarney is good spot for few days, just east of the township at the turn off to Queen Mary Falls there was a good rest area, have not been near it for 4 years, the Falls caravan park is good might be a bit expensive, we loved the area when we were tenting, falls walk, the birds, rabbit fence, Moss Garden and the drives around the Head of the Condimine River. The Clarence River starts at one of the falls also. A good area to get lost for few days with fresh air, probably to fresh at that altitude.
Hope you gave the Tourist Information a good shake down in Warwick.
Myself being resting up, well it laid me on my back, after picking up a flu bug, no prizes for that.
Yes Rocket, quite a few on the forum from WA - Sue and Phil, where we are staying, (sufil) - Vic and Carol (Weevil) - Cathy (Jayco Gypsy) - Jenny and Ron (ex Wombat) - heaps of others, too many to mention. We are expecting to have about 25 vans here for the long weekend in September - you should come over this way sometime, it is wonderful. The Nullarbor is a fantastic trip, we camped on the cliffs about 50m from the ocean, good free camps - lots now have dump points, toilets and internet/phone reception. Roadhouses for fuel and food every 260k or so.
Enjoy where you are, Warwick have a festival in July, called Jumpers in July - they knit jumpers and put them on the trees.
And Radar - get better quickly.

Very nice view - We are at a place on the Nullarbor near Southern Cross called Karalee Rocks and Dam - big dam, huge big rock - flat, with a stone wall. about 18 inches or so high, the water runs off the rock, round the wall to a channel with leads to a stone aquaduct for water to flow to the dam. Lots of these over here in the west. You should come over - beautiful places, can stay on the bitumen and not go on a dirt road at all.
You are missing out on so much.

Not for a while yet msg - we have only been over here a few weeks - get together in 2 weeks time - then head off the see some sites, meet up with people along the way. We will eventually get back over East, just not sure when!!!
You must be sick of Charleville by now, you going to wait for Norm and Julie?

For the next couple of days Jules. Looks like they may be able to get the bus fixed Friday or Monday. Then will make a decision. Will try to get a summer holiday in to come and visit you.
Today I spun up a couple of wheel washers on the lathe for a grinder I'm making. I'm totally over bench grinders that shake, rattle and roll. I have one bolted to a stand I made specifically to sharpen drill bits (in a jig I made of course), the dam thing shakes like a rattler. Impossible to find a BG that has 'proper' wheel washers that hold the grinding wheels straight, so I'm making my own.
This type of drill sharpening is called four facet, used in lathes and such. Takes me ages to do these things now with PsA, can only use my arms/hands for very short periods, and boy do I pay for it afterwards!
Nope, not a fitter and turner, it's just a hobby that went horribly wrong, I now have a workshop that puts many professional workshops to shame. Keeps me of the streets at night!

Nice work, I know how you feel, when I turn my grinder on and pick up up the job bit that I need to grind, the grinder has managed to vibrate to the other end of the garage.
Never mind, its called exercise.
I am slowly getting the caravan ready to leave home for a couple of months. I am sure there was some small jobs I needed to do before we go again.
Amazing how you forget small things which will become important when your away in the caravan.
Had a bit of a gathering of nomads today - around the fire pit, yesterday was a shocker - driving rain and horrible wind - today we had little bit of rain, and some sunshine - so we enjoyed our afternoon tea around the fire - nice and warm.

This morning was spent at my model engineering club (NDMES in Balcatta, WA) with our public run day, this month all proceeds went to the Cancer Council, I think the cheque was in the order of $3000! Not bad for 4 hours work (read play). This afternoon was spent doing nothing but recovering!
Decided to put the exterior bamboo blinds on two windows. Fell off ladder, caught my strides as I fell. Ruined the strides BUT no damage to me. Some mothers do have'em!!!!
Our internet dongle decided not to be charged up any more! Not bad, about two and half years, pretty well non stop. Thought we would have to go to Geraldton, nearest biggish town, got Dongara, went in and there was a Leading Edge computer/office store, got the dongle, no worries 4GX. Great free camp just off the highway as well, huge grassed area, toilets, walk into town - IGA, bottle, PO, banks, etc., Think we have done our bit of support for this nice little town, with some of the best Moreton Bay figs - huge!

What did I do today, I sold my old caravan, so that was a bit of a milestone The caravan had some sentimental value, as it was paid for
I was showing son in law, how to change the front springs on his old Ford XC, as I have a pit in my little shed
In a normal situation, I will pull the low pop top caravan out by hand, as I no longer have a vehicle with a tow bar, do the dirty deed in the shed, then push the caravan back in front of the shed
I accidentally fell down the pit, yes I know that it was a silly thing to do, and I will never be doing an encore of that particular act
Being very stiff and sore, with a big bruise on my side, I was not looking forward to pushing the caravan back, up the driveway
A person advertised they were buying vintage caravans, as my caravan was 1978, he was happy to buy, and I was happy to sell
Purchased for $4,500 about 17 years ago, spent about $1,000 doing it up, done some short trips, and one lap, sold for $1,500
