installing a track on pop top for a tarp

Hi everyone, We're first time grey nomads and recently purchased a pop top van. We love the idea of spending most of our time outside and would like to be able to put the tarp up when we can. has anyone installed a track onto their van that could be used to thread a tarp through and then held up with poles on other side?

Thanks, Chicka52 and partner rob56

Welcome to the gang Chicka, enjoy here and out in tue playground.

As to your question, I had a rope track put on the off side of Den up top so I could thread a privacy screen the full length of the Den. It can just hang down and pegged or have poles and guy ropes.

Welcome to the forum Chicka52. Yes, my hubby installed a sailtrack to the edge of the poptop for a rollup awning (which stays on the top of the van when travelling). The first track was just for a small canvas awning that we used 3 poles and had over the door. Then someone gave us a vinyl awning which has tension rods to keep it up against the poptop. It has 5 poles on the front and sides and the awning is now as long as our van and gives better protection. So it can be done. Oh and he put another sailtrack on the opposite side to put the small canvas awning on it to protect the fridge from the sun. He used pop rivets.
