Great photos brownie ... you have captured the place well.
My wife has visited Ayres Rock/Uluru 8 times ... first in 1968, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1983. She absolutely loves the outback.
I have only visited it once in October 1983 and stayed a fortnight.
It is a magnificent place and I would dearly love to go there again and spend a few weeks - mainly because of the photo opportunities.
However, I have a real intolerance of crowds - so I guess if I visit it will have to be before April or after October.
If only it was not so dear to stay there now and if only it wasn't so popular ... just another thing that shows how out of step with 99.9% of the population I am.
Cheers - John

Not out of step John..... We too love the quiet, free camp as much as possible and hate crowds!! PS. I was first there in 1970. Bit of a change since then!!

Brownie - You have some great pics of one of my favourite spots too. Don't you think there is a magical, even mystical light present when you walk around the base ? Sure gives the pics a nice effect.(pic 4)
Hi TechnoGypsy, how right you are! Uluru is a very special place if you take the time to soak up the atmosphere and listen to a few of the yarns. The only thing we didn't do was to visit the rock at dawn. Next time!
