Ive previously posted on here about 3 mnths back about all the problems we had (yes, hopefully now in the past tense "had") with our new Supreme Executive 'van.
Having got some resistance from the warranty/service staff at the Dealer, George Day Caravans in Perth), I threatened them by the option of either fixing the problems or me taking the issue up with the ACCC (which did have a surprising turn around in their attitude).
Anyway, we finally agreed that the 'van would go back to them twice. Once in December to repair a leaking 4 seasons hatch, and then again in January for all the other faults.
I emailed the salesman I bought the 'van through, moaning about all the problems and the attitude of their service staff. He came straight back saying he and one of the "Day" brothers would sort it out - and it would be fixed.
I took the 'van in on Monday for the hatch to be sealed properly and picked it up yesterday and nearly fell off my perch to find that had also fixed all of the faults so I don't need to go back in January (a 1.5 hour journey for me each way). Some of the warranty work was better than the manufacturers build level, where the Dealers staff made various items better than new by screwing as well as the original gluing. They had also checked a couple of other minor items which were not faulty and told me what could happen and to check these from time to time and they would fix them if they fault
It still disappointing that the majority of 'van builders do such a poor or average unit, especially when they are so expensive. In our 3 mnth travel around WA, we talked to many people with new 'vans and everyone said they had some major and multiple problems (including Jayco - one country repairer said tongue in cheek that the Jayco unit it the best from the chassis down!!)
Good service!!

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
I am not surprised, our van has been off the road more than on and we have complained to the service dealers, the sales dealer and the manufacturer in getting repairs done.
We have spent many hours of our time and money having to get the van to the repairers.
The caravan industry needs a full investigation by the ACCC into the way the manufacturers disregard the customers concerns....it appears that once the van is supplied to the selling dealer it becomes the responsibility of that selling dealer.
When you get time view www.productreview.com.au and search caravans......very interesting reading.
Read the complaints of an owner of a Windsor Royal
We are on our third Jayco van, the current one has travelled 30,000 kms this year and apart from a couple of minor problems they have a been excellent and do the job they were designed to do.
