What is not being said is that globalisation is exporting jobs. That is a big game changer. That and other reasons eg falling ore prices are reducing the taxes collected.
How I long for 17% rates on our money now, I remember when we had 40k in the bank in the mid 80's and getting 17% on the money. Paid the rent and plenty of holidays.
I think about how the current generation can afford mcmansions with 2 new cars in the driveway, I wouldn't sleep at night. I really wouldn't change a thing. What goes around comes around. This current generation will be complained about by the next generation and so on.
I'm just very happy where I am in life and wouldn't swap it for anything, As you get older you can kick back and enjoy. I wouldn't be young for quids.
Edit Further info:
Finally started the Coaster today, tried yesterday but kept getting air in the fuel lines. So today tried again after charging the battery and all good. It has been 6 months off the road and finally we can plan something.
Cheers Allan
