Sunbirds have taken over

I am refurbishing my older  freeway camper, and a family of nthern Sunbirds have built a nest inside , and they have baby birds in it! This slows down work a bit as I don,t want to disturb them. If you touch the nest, the adults will leave it.These birds are like hummingbirds, and feed on nectar.Pretty little things.I will just have to wait till they fledge.Anybody want a slide on avery?Thats a pic of the male.  sunbird.jpgBill

They're very pretty Bill, you may have to spray/fumigate the camper for bird lice when they finish nesting, they are notorious for infesting nests.

Bill, its great that you are not turfing them out and in the process killing the fledglings - good on you mate for being caring enough to wait:)

Perhaps I could sell the van with the sunbirds still in it, but they are such pretty little buggers that I could not bring myself to turf them out. No great hurry- I will wait til they grow up a bit.Don,t need the money that bad.Bill

Bill - you are a generous man!! Not only do you care about our beautiful fellow creatures, you care about humans as well (I hope that anyone who takes up on your offer of your yard doesn't spoil your trust in us)

The only problem is the barge fare which is exorbitant.I have a big front yard, and live about 700m from the beach at Horseshoe bay. You are welcome if you can make it. Bill
