Been swimming daily and sunbathing on the floating mattress and again visiting other grey nomad's during which I was told about some wood left behind so I walked towards the promontory to check it out. Looks good already sawed up into good lengths but too far and too heavy to walk back with it. Will try tomorrow to get someone with a car to drive me up and get it, always providing that it is still there.
Was able to get Paul to drive me up to get the wood discovered yesterday and by now it is all tucked away under my blue tarp. Did help Paul jack up the caravan and change over the wheel he had fixed by a Tyre place earlier. Also helped him to fit a new 12v socket on the outside of his caravan.
Another happy hour this time outside Sarg's van celebrating Paul and Hazel's 15 months on the road full time, had a good turn up with the usual nibblies and I offered my Tawny Port around and were a few takers. Most of us were swimming at some time during this hot day I went in at 7.30pm to cool down even as late as that.
A dull day finishing up with a thunder storm, we had plenty of notice and some took down their awnings. I didn't but in the morning some of the long screws had become loose a couple of inches, I was able to pull them out and found that the rain had soaked into the ground and they were screwed into mud.
Have been wanting to have a fire for a few nights but it either has been too hot or too windy. Had a couple of Grey Nomad visitors, Barrie and his wife DI whom I had met at Home Hill called in as did David (Plendo) with a work colleague Billy. Looking across to the acreage sites it looks like Jonathon has left us and this morning (Just Cruising) Jim and Leonie have arrived camping up next to Ken Thomas (Dun Wurkin).
A very quiet day but had a happy hour in front of Paul and Hazel's camp under the shade of a few trees, later a few of us had a fire infront of Billeee's place and the discussions carried on until late. I arrived home at 10.30pm, very late for me and too late to watch another episode of Mrs Brown's Boys.
How boring, John. No strip poker, no dirty yarns, no drunken brawls, no malicious goss... Nice pics tho and floating around the lake on a pump-up bed sounds like heaven. A few ports around the campfire sounds tolerable too.
