I already have Wikicamps but still getting my head around it's workings. What filters would be used to find long term stays?

Camps Australia wide issue 8 is due out in about Feb 2015 - heaps of info in there. Did you have a particular state or area in mind?

Wikicamps does take some understanding, but I found the online Camps is worse!! I clear all filters in Wikicamps, put the pin on the town near where I want to stay and then click view list. The list starts closest to the Pin and gradually works outwards. Go down thru that list and you will see all the Free and Paid camping sites. I read the Comments on those I am interested in.

the Camps books also can be purchased as an app. similar to wikicamps which you can load ans use on an android or Apple devices

caravancaravan.com.au is another site I find very useful - use it with Camps and Wikicamps. I like the camps book beside me in the ute, like the comments on wikicamps and love the trip planner on caravancaravan - so got it all covered :0

I have Wkicamps app. also registered with caravancaravan web site and also camps 7 so I will have get and study them.

Just remember with all this info, that's its not always that accurate. Wikicamps relies a lot on what we as users say about a site so what I think and say can come as a big shock to you when its not as good as you expected.
Een the Camps 7 (edition 8 out next February) is not always accurate. They list a site in the Piblbara as a free camp with water. In fact the camping there is probably risky as its full of broken beer bottles and the water is from tanks. It took us about 30 minutes to get about 15 lt of water from the two water taps.
Always use all these guides as a guide only - don't get caught out by assuming what you read in the book or on your screen is totally as you would expect. Probably the only good rule of thumb is in the more popular tourist areas or during school holidays, make sure youre at the place by about lunchtime or early arvo. Some are full by about 3pm and you may have to driver many more kms to find somewhere else
