Shower light in Jayco Stirling

Hi, we have only just purchased our 2006 Jayco Stirling caravan, we haven't used it as yet, have only had it a few weeks. I notice that everytime I go inside, the light in the shower is on. We turn it off and the next time we go in, it's on again. Anyone know what the problem is?? Thanks.

Hi circlek

You have what is called in the trade "a magic bulb" biggrinbiggrin or some naughty little gremlinsfuriousfurious

All jokes aside ,take it back and get them to check it for you ,should still be under warranty.

Cheers,

Bluesman

Is the light switch turned itself on Chris or just the light coming on?

Aussie Paul. smile

Thanks Paul & Bluesman, I think I have it worked out, we have a switch for turning on the 12v power, when we turn that on, the light comes on as well but stays off as long as we don't turn the 12v off then on again. I suppose this is normal?biggrin

Thanks again for your help, Chris

That sounds like a sensor light. When you switch it on, it behaves like a sensor light. If you switch it off and on again within a second or so, then it behaves like a normal light and stays on.

hmmmm.....should it have a sensor light in the shower??

I go with the take it back to the Dealer and complain (don't offer potential reasons for why it might be turning on, otherwise the Dealer will agree with you and if it is faulty - it wont get fixed). Instead, complain that its faulty and see what they say...........

The nearest Jayco dealer is in Bundaberg, (approx. 3hrs away)  might have to wait until we start traveling.blankstare

Could these be an electronic version of time delay lights? I recall seeing lights in blocks of units that were operated by a mechanically damped pushbutton switch that slowly released the button after a minute or so.
