Viewing Last Unread Post

Is there a way of viewing the last unread post in a thread on this forum?

I visit a lot of forums with my many interests and usually can work them out.

This one has me fooled though

Hi Mark

Welcome to the forum.

Yes this forum's software is really " a blast from the past ".

Good luck working it out and I hope you enjoy

Yes the software does the job of keeping the forum going  which is certainly good for the members but there are now many newer forum software programs that are now available that would be a great improvement for the members and Cindy.

Thank you Meg and Molly for your polite reply

If you want to read the last post on a thread, then look to the extreme right on the subject line - it will show you the date someone posted a msg on the thread - just click on that.

The s/ware is a bit clunky at times and sometimes on a subject you cannot get to the last post even if it shows a number of pages at the bottom - then do what Ive suggested above

If people don't like the software maybe don't look at it. Keep in mind this is a free forum and Cindy does a very good job providing us with it.

Go to your settings Mark and make adjustments to suit. I have mine set to read last posted comment first....something like that anyway, you will see the different choices.

Click on your name "Marked Man" Under the profile column on left side, click on Settings. Find "Order of Comments", then select "Newest first"...

Didn't want to start a war.

Simply every other forum I am a member of (and it is a lot) you have the ability to click on a link that takes you the first unread post in a thread.
It appears to me that you can't do that in this software
I was just making sure I wasn't missing something. Asking questions is how you find out about things.
If it can't be done, then it can't be done, no big deal.

A lesson taught to me by the much respected Vic 41 is - go to user details and at the left of the screen you will see an heading marked settings click on this and you can change your screen so that the last post is at the top.

Hope this helps

Friar

G'day

To whomever this site 'belongs to' ...
If you do intend to upgrade your software, please do not go for VBulletin v5

Another forum that I am active with went from v4 to v5 and the bugs are so numerous and features now disappeared that the forum nearly closed following user annoyances and anger with it all. It took a team of volunteers many hundreds of hours of effort to bring it up to 3/4 of what the old software provided
