The better question is: Has anyone had to make a claim with Youi?. There's never a problem paying your money to an insurance company , it's getting it back can cause headaches.

Yes I agree, if you google any insurance company most people are complaining about there service and having trouble getting things done.

They quoted me agreed value of 47k for 60 a month, excess is 400, that is for the van.

Car quote is Market Value of around 26 for 54 a month, excess 725

Have you had a quote from CIL? $200 excess. A breeze to deal with.

I am a current YOUI customer with comprehensive insurance on 2 vehicles, TPPDO insurance on 1 vehicle, our caravan and house/contents.
Last time our house/contents came up for renewal it increased 30% - I queried this and managed to get it reduced. I suspect all other policies will also have an increase despite insured values going down.
That's OK and I can deal with that by shopping around....and I will.
However, I've just been given the job of selling my grand daughter's car for which I needed TPPDO insurance. Tried the online system which is not really online as they ring you for the final bit (the hard sell).
They said that I was a "Preferred Customer" so I thought that's good, but the premium was 25% higher than Allianz and because this vehicle had not been insured (rego had runout but now renewed) they wanted an excess of $1750 for the first 90 days. (Allianz was excess of $650) I queried this and they said that I might be insuring a wreck which I then would drive into a mate's wreck and claim insurance???. This is for a preferred customer with a clean licence and no insurance claims for over 30 years plus 5 current policies with them. I sent a email which was never answered so I rang them but they just say well that's what the actuaries say we must apply.
I added that in the past I had rtecommended YOUI to others on forums plus 2 neighbours who took out YOUI policies, however they would not budge so now I'm no longer a fan.
GOOD LUCK.

Going with CIL with van, have a few days to decide if I go with Youi on car or stick with RACV

Racv is 17 dollars a month more.

Russue - good choice - Ive done the same...........CIL for 'van and my car with SGIO (get their so called discount for length of being a customer and having so many policies etc)

I thought with YOUI, you only made decent savings if you had reduced usage of your vehicle (not used every day) or only short trips (inner city stuff)

Next year Im going to check out CMCA - they do van and vehicle - CIL don't, even though they will insure a motorhome with an engine and all the associated electronics in it (weird - think they need to re-visit what they cover, especially when vans are dearer than most tow vehicles)

For what it's worth I got a quote from YOUI back in April for the tug and they came in $200 more that my current insurer. When I told them, they said " no way, we always are cheaper" I faxed a copy of the quote but got no reply.

CGU, through my health fund's general insurance. BUPA. Have both the Tug and the Den insured with them.

You just reminded me to ring them and give them the Rego of the Chief as I arranged a couple of weeks ago and just used Chassis #.

Enjoy your Collie mate, love mine.

Had all my insurances with NRMA over many years but found that with all of my loyalty and multi policy discounts I was still paying more than if I switched to any of several insurance companies. I am now for car and caravan insured with GIO and always check rates as policies come due then go with the cheapest of the reputable companies.

I discovered this year that there was a bonus discount for anyone starting a new comprehensive policy with GIO and from memory it was about $80.00 cheaper so on the day my old policy was about to expire I rang and cancelled the policy, then did online new policy and saved $80.00 always worth checking each time you are due for renewal on policy.

We have our van insured with CIL, recently had a claim and not an issue, real easy to deal with and extra prompt. Cost $68 a month with $5K worth of pers property added. $200 excess.

$40K ute with RAA costs $53 a month with $200 excess. Agreed value.

Thank goodness I havnt had to claim for the ute but Im told the RAA are easy to deal with.

Safe travels

Unfortunate enough to have a claim with Youi. Very happy with speed and efficiency all was sorted. The thing I like is you get a direct number to the person that is looking after your claim. If they are not available leave your number and they are soon back to you. I even set a time for them to call back and they were right on time.

What you won't get is any accessory to your vehicle not listed. The initial premium  is base cover. There are a lot of exemptions that can be included. Just means you only pay for what you want.

I have been with Youi and have 2 vehicles insured with them and can only speak highly of their service. My wife's car [1996 Toyota Corolla] recently came up for renewal and the monthly premium was increased by approx $7/month. One phone call and the premium was reduced by $6/month.

The beauty of Youi's call centre was that I have when contacting them, spoken to an Australian. The call centre is on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

I have had to have a couple of claims [windscreen] and everything went smoothly.

I did check them out for Caravan Insurance [am with CIL at the moment] but they were $8/month above what I am paying and the excess was $600 more than CIL.
