Nice pics, Rocky. Funny about the goldfields pic... it doesn't look like the kinda place you'd find gold (to me) but the pic of the creek before it with the water tumbling over the rocks does. Oh well...
Interesting observation. I too have no "skill/experience/knowledge" on identifying "gold areas"
I prefer to find "gold" through my lens rather with pick, shovel or detector.
But the Maryborough Goldfields and the huge area surround there, called the Golden Triangle, were extremely valuable goldfields in years past. Many fortunes were dug out of there.
And also, the photos of the Freestone Creek are less than 10 km from where gold was found in the late 1800s. Not a huge field but quite profitable. My Mother-in-law's great grandfather was one of two pioneers who found the first gold in that area.
