The van was bigger than it looked, I thought it would go down side of house with ease, ( Linda was right again ) had to take gate off, cut post off and remove metre of fence cut back the garden ( that will be removed now ) all up 2 1/2 hours to back it about 15 metres. . Feel much safer with locked away, well when I put the fence and gate back..big storm last night and to what we can see no leaks. Now waiting starts again for Christmas To get out in it.
You're fortunate to have a house with enough room to put the van down the side.
Just before we retired at XMAS 1998, and knowing that we were going to need to accommodate a caravan we went out to look for a new house in our suburb.
What a job ... 6 months later we were still looking. Most blocks were completely filled with the house & very little space down the sides.
SWMBO finally found one that had space enough down both sides .. so we snapped it up & lived happily ever after.
All you need now is a concrete slab & a roof over the top. It never stops. One job well done always leads to another & another etc. etc.
Yeah, much the same problem here, van is too high to go under the carport where we used to keep the poptop, so had to squeeze it in between the house and garage, a 4m space but with the eaves and gutting on the house and allowing enough room to open the caravan door, it was a bit squeezy!
Yep same here.
Built my workshop garage 12m x 8m installed 3m high roller doors so I could fit a Landcruiser in with roof rack.
Never dreamed of owning a 21ft van when we were 28.
Bought the new van home it has 12mm either side of the doors to fit in.
Unfortunately we also have an AC unit fitted. Who would have thought that we would own a van AND that it would have AC
It does not fit under the door, so now we have a huge van that sits on our apron.
Funny how when you are young you never think of getting old and the things that you will have when you get there.
After several houses with no storage for anything more than a pop top, we sold our big house and built two smaller ones with a humungous shed to look after my new full van. I couldn't be any happier, unless I could get away more often. That will come and I will be ready.
