Rving and traveling the UK

There are members of this forum who have missed out on some great camping opportunities while touring the Uk in Rvs

So I thought I might help those concidering such a future holiday by providing some details of how to get the most  out of their trip.

There are a lot of CPs throughout the UK but for those who enjoy a more peaceful and scenic location to camp or overnight there are private locations for up to 5 vans which can be booked through "The Caravan Club" a large very well astablished orgaination.

If you go to their web site, just google, "the caravan club uk" then go to "certified locations". There are a lot of locations which cover most of the UK. The CC also have a lot of CPs if you prefer a stand CP. They also have Centres (details on the web) which hold rallys. We would very often join in a rally if in the area we wanted to see. Worth contacting the CC and possibly one of the Centres.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of organising a RV tour of the UK

We used some private location sites that were "Brit Stops" that were free for us.
These sites were also "certified sites" for a caravan club, but those people had to pay 7 pounds per night to use them. On the same property!

Cheers,
Peter

You are right Peter. You can get a deal which includes "brit stop" when hiring some RVs give syou one night at some of the brit stop locations for free or you can buy the booklet for 25 pounds.
However you dont get the full 2500 certified sites or membership of to The Caravan Club and take part in their centre Rallys a great experience and way of getting the knowledge of UK RVing.
I guess is comes down to how long you have to travel and where you want to go.
But for those who want to spend time viisiting the scenic out the way places and meet like minded Poms you cant go past the CC.

This is now many years back but at then if you were a NRMA member you were accepted as a CC club member for your stay, this may no longer be the case.

When we hired a motorhome in the UK in 2000, this was the case with RACQ and CC clubs
