feel sorry for the ladies, but the dingos were there before the humans and most of the problem is that we feed them when we're not supposed to, so they come to close to humans - they are WILD dogs after all and eat to survive.

In WA w're killing the apex ocean feeder, the great white shark for attacking people - the problem is, often after theyre been killed, the bite marks are identified as being bull or bronze whaler sharks and over fishing has forced sharks closer into the coast.

Talking to a shark mate of mine the other day - hes about 5m long, he was saying that its nearly impossible for him and his mates to tell the different between his usual prey - seals - and a surfie in a black wet suit on a board often in the same area as seal breeding colonies

I used to camp on Fraser with a mob of mates in the 1970's.  A week  of boozing & fishing.

We would camp either on the southern side dune overlooking Eli Creek (there's a toilet there now) or in a hut behind Indian Head.

There were lots of dingoes & brumbies there in those days.

I remember one time that one of my mates was climbing up the dune on the top side of the creek .. It was covered in rather thick scrubby stuff.  He wanted to get a photo of our camp from above.

Just after he disappeared into the scrub and following a narrow track, a dingo appeared and went in after him.

We of course did the right thing and grabbed our cameras & opened another tinnie.

We missed out on an action shots as he later appeared at the top of the dune without any sign of the dingo.

They were rather timid in those days & wouldn't come any where near you.

Many years later  SWMBO & I were sitting with a large group of people at one of the lakes and a scrawny dingo came out of the bush and walked straight thru the group, about 1 meter from where we were sitting without paying the slightest attention to us.  I could easily have reached out & touched him.  He was probably looking for a handout from the tourists.
