Just got back from a quick trip down south of WA (5 days) and have got several small itchy lumps on my legs, was wearing shorts and thongs. They have now turned into small sores. I am putting Bactroban cream on them (not cheap, $24 for a small 15g tube).
No I was not aware of any mozzie or midgie attacks so can only think bush or grass mites might be the problem, seem to be healing ok though.
Anyone else have this experience? I was doing some bush camping....
There are such things as sand fleas. I got bitten by them once (didn't feel the bites) but came up in sore lumps & ended up with very sore swollen legs. Eventually fixed with antibiotics
Luckily I was on antibiotics for another problem so that may have helped, they dam itchy though, starting to settle down now (my antibiotics have finished) thank goodness......
Thanks Larry and Sheba, I also found that if you spray a bit of fly spray in your hand and rub that in it works a treat too, I did it on a trip when I had nothing else, SWMBO thinks I'm mad though
No I didn't see any Marj, and you usually notice them sting, thanks I'll remember the Vic's also and thanks for you tip John.
Usually when I'm driving on a trip, I give the drivers and passengers wheel wells in the car a spray with fly spray now and then before I take off each time, nothing worse than mozzies/sandflies/midgies having a feast on your legs while you are driving
