I need some help please!!

As some of you may know I have bought a M/H - Merc. Sprinter.  As I am only going to be a part time traveller could you please help me with the following:

1.  Is it better to leave the fresh water tank full and then drain and flush when I need to use it?  (I am on tank water)

2.  Do I leave water in the loo and empty before I go?

3.  There is a cover on the outside drivers side that has something to do with the water heater when it is being run on gas - I have tried and tried to get it off - is there an easy way?

Thanks.

Personally I don't think the loo is too much of a problem and I do leave a full water tank but not for long periods of time , all I do is empty and refill , safety measure . As for the cover I have no idea sorry.

Regards the cover, is it one over a vent (ie; on the outside to keep dust out while travelling?) or something else?  Can you post a picture of the vent please if possible.

Is it screwed on or some sort of click fit etc?

Thank you exa41 for your reply. Vic41 it is a cover on the outside for dust purposes I suppose. It is about 6" long and about 4" wide and it has a click fit. I will try and get a photo if that helps.

Nelly

We always drain our water tanks when we put our motorhome away also empty the cassette in the toilet

the cover is the dust cover on the hot water cylinder and must be removed before being started on gas to remove press both thumbs into centre near the top and pull off

Same we kept the water tank full and replaced the water every several months. Ok just before we left because I always forget to change it every 3 months.

Once though I had to drop some napisan in over night because it smelt like wet leather... A couple of flushes with fresh tap water and good as gold.

We've never had the luxury of a mobile dunny just a portable cassette chemical one which stays in the garage when stored after being hosed out on the back lawn...

Definitely figure out what that cover is and get to know all the features of your MH including plumbing and electrics so you can be as independent as possible
and avoid problems before they become serious. Anything you're unsure of just ask here or maybe the selling dealer like you are. Nothing worse than being stranded
somewhere.

Cheers and good on you Nelly.

The outside vent is for the water heater. Press reasonably hard in the middle of the cover and the top will lift away!! Leave the cover on the drivers seat so you don't forget to replace it B4 you leave!!

Thanks for the feedback Nelly, looks like the good motorhome owners here have answered the question, so hope it works! smile
