trip to grampians

smile hello all. still pretty new to this so here goes.  just returned from a great holiday in galaxy van.  first overnight stay was lake ratzcastle. beautiful spot on lake.  heaps of space. lovely scenery. campfire at night and toilets & solar showers. bit hard to find but after going in wrong turn  we were shown directions by another lovely couple. then onto lake bolac. sorry wouldnt recommend this time of year. mozzies as big as planes. lol. might be lovely in warmer months. camping available all around lake but we chose caravan park for power.  then on to grampians.  majic place.  so pretty & heaps to do. hope i havent been too boring. first forum. will be going back to grampians for sure...

G'day davoes and welcome to the forum.

With so many great free or low cost options available in the great state of Victoria, why would anyone stay in a National Park which is under the control of ParksVic? Since the changes in July to site fees and the fact that you must pre-book and the absurd amount the government wants to charge you, most parks are unaffordable.

Places such as Lake Ratzcastle, which we also stayed at recently, are hidden gems. Currently we're at Dartmoor at Fort O'Hare with about another 10 vans and MHs. The vibe is so much better and the facilities are way better than most National Parks we have stayed at over the years.

Enjoy your travels.
