there is a reason for this and I think its well worth it.. ya all know what im talking about...
I can't remember where now.. but it was up the centre.. there was a lady who took care of the toilets all day and you tipped her before you used the toilets..
she would ask you on the way out if the toilets were clean enough etc..
Just come back from 3 months in Europe, standard procedure over there, price ranges from 50c to 1 Euro [ about $1.40 Aus ] especially in all service stations and Tourist area"s, Lots of changes start over there, and then find there way over here,
Just wait to you see the changes with the Banking system ?? There soon will be NO counters to go up to at all you enter a bank to use a computer ??
Twenty years ago it was £1 to use one of those self cleaning dunnies in London. $1 in Katherine sounds cheap in comparison, did you see any of the educated locals using them whilst you were there. They certainly were in Alice springs to steer clear of their bush friends "hygiene."
