Does anyone know what the Alpha Clermont road between Alpha and Clermont is like?

I was up that way last year in my 4X4 (no van) , lot of road damage on hwy let alone th dirt roads .
I would "bite th bullet" & do th extra 100k to Emerald , but , you are looking at th same time frame .
Allthough some of th dirt roads up that way are reasonable . eg - Torrens Ck Rd , used to be able to do
70/80kph in a Road-Train , I have only ever done Alpha to Clermont once , that was nearly 3yrs ago .
I would Not take my van over it .
Allany , are you near there , going there or planning ? Other options may be "better"

funny that I mentioned Torrens ck rd , used to use that a lot to go nth , singles
or road-trains . Best way to go from Barcy , to nth . But with a van . I would got to
Emerald , then nth to Clermont , Charters Towers . If you want a quiet trip , go up to
Undara lava tubes , Ravenshoe to Palmerston . As I reckon , Townsville to Cairns ,
is th worst part of th Bruce . Have a Safe trip , whichever way you go . Plenty to look at
p that way .
