Went to the Melbourne LeisureFest today. Wow, never seen so many caravans in one spot! huge fun.
Just lately I've parted with a dollar or 3 to ensure my comfort and spare parts on travels. And got some great cash savings through shop front stores. Even my local Jayco store talked for cash, for parts.
What astounded me today, and the sole purpose of going to the show, was how no-one wanted to do cash deals. And I'm talking 2 big dollar items. I asked for a cash deal, as I knew the price elsewhere, and I wanted to try to save some money.
Perhaps the moral of the story is..... Do your homework first? I've saved about $300 not buying at the show due to researching first. or have I lost money by paying a ticket fee, toll charges and fuel?
And the irony is, one $190 product will be delivered to my door for the same price. So they pay postage? Rather than a sale on the day?
and then I thought about 'that product, delivered for free ' while driving home, and I've decided not to buy it, reckon I've figured how to make it for a fraction of the price ;)

I don't think you "lost money" as you had a day out looking at things you like and saw heaps of goodies for the wish list, more than likely, so good day I reckon. Well done. I am not going cos I will wait until I get my new toy soon and see how things go first. I think with all my "home work" there won't be much needed anyway.

It's bit of an irony that we whinge about advertising on telly, yet we're quite happy to pay a fee to go to these shows which, effectively, is paid advertising for the companies. Yes we still go though, but I have an excuse... I'm gullible... and she must be too cos she married me..
