I have stocked our dams with silver perch, yellow belly and yabbies, the fish are still growing but have yabbies on tap and this is one simple dish we love.
12 yabby tails
150ml of beer
3/4 cup of self raising flour
salt and pepper to taste
1 big lemon
Honey
Mix flour, salt, pepper and beer then whisk till smooth.
Heat honey in pot, being careful not to turn into toffee
Dip yabby tails in batter mix and fry till golden brown (not too dark).
Juice the lemon over tails then dip into the honey.
That easy!

Hey Simple Life, first off welcome to the forum, but I am not happy (June) that you appear to have taken the fish and yabbies to stock your dam, you could have left some in Bjelke Petersen Dam!! where we are at the moment, with only 1 yellow belly and 1 red claw today - please put some of them back!!!
But have to say, the above recipe sounds yummy, and when we get a few more will try it out.
Cheers

It is my get out of nagging or I am in the poo card here at home :P I hope you enjoy...
I bet you aren't using cheese for the yellow belly and that is why you are not having any luck, best bait for red claw is rock melon!!! I am not pissing in your pocket either.
Well day one of the fishing classic here at BP Dam, and guess who got the first fish? 3.26Kg if you please, and whilst hubby was re-baiting my line, I got a hit on his rod, but when he grabbed the rod from me, guess what happened - he lost the fish! Knew he should have left it with me to bring in. Ahh never mind, have got a few red claw, although the weather is not all that warm. Will see how I go in the morning when we head back out for day 2 of comp.
Cheers
Pejay
