I'm in the process of fitting the new replacement microwave oven that Crusader Caravans sent me last week and I have discovered a bit of a panel (yellow area) that may be useful for something.
It is easily accessible (now I have found a way to remove the "old" microwave) and as you can see power is available behind there.
I was thinking maybe another power point would be useful. With the pop top up the shelf above is useable and their never seems to be enough power points to charge phones, Ipads, etc.
The down side to a power point is that it is very close to the sink.
Any ideas of what else could be useful for that spot?

Be careful not to cover the vents in that shelf for the microwave RL. Also anything you put on that shelf will have to be removed when you lower the pop-top. But a power point so you could use a toaster, or shaver, or....? could be useful
Edit :I had an idea! How difficult would it be to put a 12 volt point there? Could be useful for free-camping, depending on what 12 volt gear you have/would like to have.

That was the sort of left hand thinking I was looking for. Our setup is not quite setup for free camping, but it wouldn't need a lot to get it done. There's a double power point on the opposite side of the van that we use for the toaster & kettle. Anything by the microwave would be piggy backed with it so I am reluctant to plug a toaster in on that side. BUT a couple of 5volt USB plugs for phones & stuff off the 12 volt system might be the go.
I'm actually going to put a vent in on the shelf above the microwave as there isn't anything there, and we clear the shelf before putting the top down.
Thanks again
Jeff

I added a vent in the shelf above the microwave to assist with ventilation
The new microwave surround has been modified so with the removal of 4 screws the microwave will slide out. The original surround was fitted before the carpentry was finished and I had to destroy it to get it out.
A Baintech twin port USB socket added (12volt source) to charge Ipads & phones. Positioned so that little cupboard door to the left of it doesn't wipe out anything plugged in when it swings down to open.
All in All I'm quite happy with the result, and if I need anything in future the microwave is easily removed and 240 & 12 volt is available in there.
