Have a wireless camera on my van with the image being displayed in the rear vision mirror. My issue is that it works well with the car not running, but when connected and travelling the image often is not there or is breaking up with lots of lines thru it. I thought it might have something to do with the LED lights which I firstly powered the camera from, so changed it over to a direct link ( + and -) from the battery. Still no better. Any ideas?

Hate to tell you ,throw it in the bin and bye a hard wired one,been there with wireless camera,not sucsessfull,the monitor I had was picking up every one else's camera,s ,try Safety Dave in Melbourne. Good gear good price.
I maybe wrong but the distance from the back of the van to the receiver is your problem, you would be on its transmission limit. It maybe ok with the car off the 2.4ghz wifi receive interference from other electrical items, also other items like phones, laptops and tablets using that spectrum.
If you want to try a simple test extend the normal hook wires between the camera and the transmitter, to as close to the car as possible, this should give you a stronger signal to the receiver, take your camera/ transmitter to your local Jaycar store they may have a solution to extend the wiring.
I think its interference from either the LED lighting or the control computer in the tug. Go to jaycar get a .1 micro farrad capacitor and connect it to the pos and neg of the supply to the camera, this should cut the interference. I have the same issue but it doesnt bother me, as long as I get a look at the back.
May not work either. give it a try

Thanks for all your replies and advice. I agree that there is some issues with wireless and the electronics in the ute. I had read some time ago along Phil's reply, so will try that first. I had a similar setup on an expanda and there was less interference and put up with it as You could see what was happening behind you. It possibly is because the expanda was fiberglass whereas the coromal is aluminium clad. They are both the same length!
All advice appreciated.
