Buying a Second Hand Van.

I am new to the Grey Nomadic scene and was totally confused about how to find a decent van within my budget which was up to $15K. Living in Central West NSW there is a dearth of suitable vans and the dealers want $1000's over market value. All the well priced stock is on the coast, in Victoria or Qld all too far to travel for an inspection.

After driving myself nuts looking at what was withing my price range I had a good think about what I actually wanted. Firstly a pop top, secondly it had to be single axle and legal for my 2005 Kluger to tow (1500kg) and thirdly I wanted the manufacturer to still be in business. Well that certainly narrowed the choice.

I found a dealer on the coast on eBay who had a 2002 Millard 17' pop top for $11K. I rang him and asked what was wrong with it. He told me that he had sold 48 new vans in June and he was drowning in trade-ins and that this van was at his cost. The van was immaculate; I got an absolute bargain. The van was serviced, registered and he threw in a set of load levelers.

See you on the road.

Welcome to the gang Pioneer 100, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Sounds like a good deal for sure. If it wasn't a caravan I would suggest you take it straight to the pool room. Maybe put a photo of it in the pool room instead.
