Really nice spot - and great to meet Vida - will spend the day here, together, and move on tomorrow.

Foggy here this morning, and the evenings are very cold - we went into Albany to shop, and have a bit of a look around - heaps of traffic, and not many paces to park the motorhome. Stayed two nights out at Cosy Corner East - down near the beach - walked along the beach, beautiful - looked out for whales - didn't see any though.

And Phil - that fella keeps moving ahead of us, can't seem to catch up!

Sue - only top of 21 yesterday, and down to 11 overnight, so jumpers are needed!

At Ravensthorpe, turn right to Hopetoun, old mine village site on right has nice free camp (in camps book).

Or on the way to Esperance, free camp just off Highway at Munglinup opposite roadhouse.  Flush toilets.  Key from Roadhouse for a couple of dollars to local fire brigade for a nice hot shower (other end of toilet block).

If you want a cheap caravan park with dogs allowed, this is the one Yeo and I stayed at, at different times.  On main road just before Esperance you will see the turn off sign, this was written from my trip;

"Next day I drove to Esperance and stayed at the Bushlands Caravan Park (recommended by Yeoeleven) for $12.50 pp a non powered tent site for two nights. Drinking water is tank only nice hot showers (bore water) and a great campers kitchen including all the usual kitchen appliances and TV ."  Not sure how much powered sites are though for two people.  It's not fancy and drinking water is from rain water tanks, see;  http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/bushlands-holiday-village/esperance Bit run down but I enjoyed it and any permanents I met were very friendly...Owners are great too.

I believe the Pink Lakes CP allows dogs also, a much nicer park but a bit more expensive, has a good reputation.

Glad your all having a good time and hope the weather holds out for you. biggrin

 Bushlands is on the way to Esperance from Norseman and is listed in Camps 6 about 6kms out of Esperance.

hey Jules I have a contact from a Aquaponic's Forum who lives in Kalgoorlie, and he has told me of many a time that they go to old Farm dams and throw in the yabby pot's at get a nice feed out of them..

they throw back the females in Berry and Keep the rest if they are a nice size...

so if you happen to have a Yabbie pot of can muck one up Give it a go..

Enjoy your travel's and be safe..

Juergen..

Don't know the Yabby farm Jules.   Bushlands does not have it's own website, but these are the contact details and map;

http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/bushlands-holiday-village/Esperance

Before the south coastal highway hits the intersection into Esperance, you will see a sign for the CP indicating a right hand turn, it is the nearest CP to the Pink Lakes......Give them a ring if you can't find it, phone number on the link above.....

Just had a look at the Yabby Farm, it looks ok for the price, can't say I've heard of it before;

http://www.cmca.net.au/services/rv-friendly/destinations?pid=465&sid=538:the-yabby-farm-Esperance

On the way north to Kalgoorlie from Esperance (about 20-30 kms apparently) there is the Gibsons Soak Hotel, seems to have mixed reviews of its food I think Dunmowins may have stayed there (parked overnight) and by the looks of the reviews an Avan club as well, see;
