RE: Jayco's - Advantages and Disadvantages

Agree with all the positive comments here. Our first Jayco was a freedom, the second a Discovery and now we have the Conquest Motorhome. Jayco after sales service in terms of their warranty has been exceptional. No problem has been too much. And yes, things go wrong with a new van/motorhome, but they have fixed everything when noted. We also had issues with the plastic end drawer runner holders on the Disco and a year out of warranty, when told of the problem, sent us replacements for all the drawers.

The Conquest has been fabulous. We love the layout, the quality and the freedom of being able to get out of bed and just drive off. Though I do miss my 4wd.... :)

Having recently owned a New Jayco Eagle Camper.

Pro's - Loved the product biggrin

         - A couple of small issues that we had were promptly attended to by the dealer.

Con's - We had a couple of small issues (stupid stuff like screws to short on cupboard hinges, etc)

          - The Dealer! blankstare.gif I likened it to going back to the 70's and dealing with a used car mob. confuse All talk and failed miserably on the action. eg. The Camper has a plastic cover to put over the door when you pack it up. Ours split along the stitching where the velcro is attached. Yes we'll fix that sir! Well the replacement was very secondhand and what I really objected to was the dirty workboot marks in the middle of their replacement cover. We had a few things "fixed" by them and this was just one example of what they called service.

P.S. We bought a different make of Pop Top Caravan from a different RV Dealership and the above pretty well applies to them as well. nono There might be a fracture in the space time continuem at Edwardstown south of Adelaide confuse

Jeff, I know one Jayco repairer that inherited and uses the name of the previous owner who I would not take a sick dog too from past experience with them.   I did notify Jayco about them.

Luckily there are others here in WA who are Jayco agents who are excellent.

With my first experience, I notified the Jayco Head Office who took some action to have my problems rectified.
