South of Perth

Left Perth this morning headed for Bunbury via the South Western Highway. Lovely drive as a change from coastal areas. Pulled up for morning tea at a nice bakery in Waroona. These carved "totem poles" were across the road next to the Information Centre.

Love those bakery's.....there is a great one at Brunswick Junction also on your way down.

Turn into the showgrounds down the same side road (bakery is on the corner of there and the highway) there are some nice clean toilets there and a good quiet shady spot for a rest....just drive through the showground gates and turn left...

Bakery - one of my favorite words. Mmmm! I can smell it now! If I'd had any brains as a kid I would have become a baker's apprentice... or a pastry cook.

I always stop at the bakery there as well. Camped at Brockman C/P recently $14 per person with power. Bit noisy with trail bikes on the weekend. We didn't hear the ski boats that were there. Nice big camp kitchen. There's camping on the other side of the dam $7 per person. Drakes brook weir is a nice stop off for a BBQ day use only. Have fun its a nice place to explore.

Darrell and Sandra you have a setup similar to what I'm planning.. except I want a dual cab.

Woaww back to subject, I stopped there on the way to Collie a few years ago.... Looks a lot better now than back in the 80's

Keep safe Darrell and Sandra over there in the "wild west".

Sounds a nice place so I have marked it down.

Hey guys, should have yelled out on the way through Pinjarra, we'd have put the kettle on.

If you like pies, call in to Jesters Pies at Parks Centre on the south side of Bunbury, cnr Brittain Rd & Bussel Highway.  They are to die for.

Cheers Neil
