The Wheatbelt Way

Went on a trip around the Wheatbelt Way for 19 days last month to see some wildflowers,  started at Goomalling, stayed there 4 nights then left for Dowerin( bakery a must) and then to the Minnivale campsite.  Next day Koora, staying at the native flora reserve (has a couple of walks); stopped in at Gabbin for water then to Marshal Rock, next stop Eaglestone Rock (stayed the weekend).   Stopped in at Mukinbudin for supplies then had a look at Weira reserve before heading to Elachbutting Rock (was going to stay a couple of nights but stayed one night because the generator/chainsaw brigade was there).  Next to Datjoin Rock where we saw our first Orchids. Back to Mukinbudin for water then down to Nungarin to stay at Talgomine Reserve.  Left the Wheatbelt way now and headed to Karilee Rock to meet up with my Sister and her Husband, stay a couple of nights then to Kwolyin for one night before the last stop of the trip at York.

Minnivale has a black water dump point and York has a black and grey water dump point, York also has 4 free power points if you get there early.

The Wheatbelt Way is a treat to drive around, we enjoyed the trip so much we are going to do it again.

Goodonya goannaway, we loved our wildflower time in the wheatbelt too, never saw such an amazing flower show outside Canberra's Floriade.

We wandered around the Wheatbelt of WA for about 10 months, and loved every minute of it.

Tell me Gerty Dancer, can you still camp at Kokerbin Rock or do you have to move on to Kwolyin? Regards.

I have just moved on from there last Sunday jon, No you can't camp at Kokerbin Rock now, it was being loved to death they say.
Kwolyin has been set up very well for campers and only 9 ks from the rock. I stayed there from Thursday to Sunday it was so relaxing. Very new ablutions block with camp kitchen. Tap water and set out parks for caravans, motorhomes, campervans or tenting. Heaps of room even though it is very popular.

Dunmowin, I'm in the wheatbelt at the moment and wandering around all the lovely country roads admiring the green rolling hills and beautiful colours of crops and wildflowers.
Can I ask what months you were here to spend 10 months, just wondering about weather conditions.

They've moved the camp a few kilometres away, it looks ok, theres nice new dunnies and plenty of space... not much shade though. Theres another free camp in that area that's very popular, cant remember where.
