Too Much of a Good Thing

Tim and Irenke here under the pseudonym 'Magyar Connection'. Irenke is the only true Hungarian (with that most beautiful of accents) and Tim just a Magyar by association; having been born in Yorkshire to Irish parents who migrated to Australia in the late sixties.

Our Australian rig is a 23' 2006 Evernew caravan pulled by a WH Jeep Grand Cherokee (see Avatar). Because of family living in the USA we also own a motorhome which we keep stored in Connecticut and use for touring and family visits each year. The motor home is a 32' Windsport behind which we flat tow a small Chevy Cobalt car. Quite a big rig by Aussie standards but often greatly overshadowed by the big Fifth Wheelers and Motorhomes you find in the States.

Having now retired from the workplace we need to consolidate all these toys. Our plans are to sell the motorhome in the next year and to do some extended touring in Australia, possibly doing the lap around the block in 2015. Looking forward to that immensely.

A few pics of the two rigs:

RE: Too Much of a Good Thing

Welcome Tim and Irenke, I know you have posted before, but now you are really here.

It sounds as if you have a great set up with the ability to tour on both sides of the ditch, and I (and I am sure many others) would be fascinated to hear about your experiences, the differences, the things that surprise you etc.

Hopefully we will meet on the road one day.

Both look great MC but I do like the interior finish of the caravan. I looked at a caravan only last Saturday 6/9 that had a very similar interior finish and I was very impressed.

I too look forward to any further info you choose to share.

Thanks Doug. Yes the Evernew has a good quality interior. They are a bit more traditional and conservative in their approach to building vans and, in my opinion, they are the equal of any manufacturer in the market. Because I'm travelling I don't have access to many other photos of the van but have included one more to give you
