New style seal on 2 litre milk bottles.

Not sure if we're alone, but we have difficulty sometimes removing the seal inside the screw off cap on Coles brand milk bottles - it's just new so I'm not sure if other brands have this but eventually they all will. Sometimes we have to use a pair of pliers to grip the tag as it is slippery.

The advantage seems to be they provide a positive seal allowing the bottle to be stored and possibly transported on their side without leakage.

Or are we getting weak in our senior years?

Good Luck.

I guess we are both getting weak in our older age, nono but  I have noticed the same thing on IGA and Saveways milk cartons. cheers Peter.

Can't say I've seen the milk bottles in WA, only the cartons. confuse (except for way back when we had milk bottles and foil caps).

Same applies to chocolate/lolly packets, I have to use scissors on them furious

I use the long life milk and the brand I use have recently changed from a pull tag to a screw top but not causing a problem yet.

I used to find the screw tops on cartons difficult to undo but that was when I was still weak from a serious operation. No problem now.

I now have a pair of pliers to open the milk. Manufacturers couldn't screw on the lid tight enough to seal so now add another layer of sealing. I is OK because the customer will pay for the additional cost.

Yes, I am having trouble too. Another job for Strop. They are on soooo tight. I expect the rest will follow suit soon enough.

Jolly nuisance when all you want is some milk for your cuppa. Even my fixit hubby has trouble so he has been using a knife to pierce the seal. Recipe for a disaster...how do older folk and children manage?
