Centrelink very kindly pay towards our weekly site fees whilst we're travelling around Australia. We don't often stay in caravan parks and certainly not for a full week. Does anyone know if they'll pay daily fees or does it have to be a full week?
We're at the show grounds in Alice Springs displaying both stickers on the caravan if anyone wants to drop by.
I had a chat to them not that long ago and I was told, 1. I had to be 65+ and 2. They would only do weekly not daily. Others here might have actual experience with your request.

I Think they pay by the week, but not if you already own a home, be it vacant waiting for your return, or rented... Of course you must be receiving a Pension.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
I claim rental assistance should I spend time in a van park. I complete the form and have it signed by the "landlord" at the van park.
I have a "personal policy" that I only lodge a form for two or more days ... and I have lodged many such claims and have been paid for just two or three nights rather an a full week somewhere. It is my usual claim for less than a week at a time and it has always been paid.
I maintain my "current 'home' address" online - updating it each time I move. If I camp with no cost, I show I am living there by updating online (new 'home' address) but don't lodge a form. Centrelink only pay rental assistance on receipt of a correctly completed and signed Rental Certificate form.
It will be interesting to see if any of these things, along with the range of other items being reviewed, change from 01 Jan 2015 when their "major review" is implemented.
Cheers - John

We also receive rent assistance being pensioners and living full time on the road, but always found it difficult to return the forms and keep up to date with them.
I had a chat with a lovely lady from CLink over this matter and she sent me a form to my email that I can print out anytime, and get filled in by the landlord (read CP) then instead of delivering or posting to an office, she told me to use the CLink app on my smart phone or Ipad and photo the form and send them back electronically.
So much easier than posting and struggling to get to an office.
Hi Sue, we are travelling OZ too as well as house and farm sitting. We also claim rent assistance no matter how little we stay at CPs and have always been paid for those days.
Mind you, we don't own a house either since 2009.
cheers
Terry
I worked for Centrelink in the early 2000s, from memory the amount of rent paid had to be more than a certain amount (I think $60 a week) to be paid rent assistance. I may be wrong with this, you can check online google centrelink and follow the prompts.
Cheers
