My Sister has spent the last 10 years tracing our family Ancestral linage and she has found an unbroken line back to 1082, we were part of the Sutherland Clan from the far north of Scotland.
Clan Sutherland were heavily involved in the Jaccobites Rising and the Clan wars of the 14,15 and16 Century as well as the 17th century Civil war
A blood thirsty bunch indeed

I've been watching that TV series on the History of the British, you're right about blood thirsty times etc...
