Well I have just watched (for a short time) with granddaughter an American show called TODDLERS AND TIARAS! It is on Austar or one of those things. It is about mothers parading their children, aged 2 onwards, like stud cattle. One was telling her 2 year old to have confidence- poor child would not have known what that meant. Total adult make up, hair styles etc etc. I am sure the children would rather be in the play ground as there are tantrums like you would not believe. They get prizes like a $15,000 play castle! These poor children will grow expecting all to be handed to them on a platter. Will not attempt to describe the behaviour of the mothers.
Oma having lived in the US I am very aware of what your saying, and its cruel that children are subjected to this by their parents. However, it not only happens in America it happens here in Oz, at the Dance Company studios, children in the school band and choir, and Sport Day, and modeling academies, I guess doing their best is not good enough, they have to win. Pour children can't enjoy it for the joy and fun it may bring, they have to be top dog or Mom and Dad will be angry and disappointed in them.
It's a pity these stupid parents didn't think about how much possible danger they are putting their children in. They're just another hunting ground for Paedophiles. Admittedly the majority of these children are not abused by these monsters, but even 1 is 1 too many.
