As a regular annual visitor to the Cairns Area for the reason of avoiding the cold southern winter,I spend quite a lot of time on the golf course. For the past ten or more years I have played in the regular Saturday and mid week competitions at Gordonvale golf club 15Km or so south of Cairns. It is an extremely friendly club and I have developed some strong friendships with many of the members. For a small annual fee I am able to take out a Grey Nomad Membership which entitles me to all member benefits for the period of my stay in the area.no crippling green fees as other local clubs request and a chance to play regular comp or social golf in a welcoming environment. So on your next extended stay in the warm north during the winter, and you enjoy your golf ,contact the club and see what they can offer you. Cheers Ian.
