Well done. Hope that the next leg of your travels is one where you will be able to travel more slowly and see the sights.

You have done a pretty quick trip Fran - take it easy - and we may see you on the road - will pm you with a phone number (though connection can be erratic) - leave a message if we don't answer. We are currently just out from Monkey Mia - Gladstone Scenic Lookout, on the NW Highway, not far before the turnoff to Denham etc. Great view over the plains to the water! Well worth a look and a stopover.

This life is for taking it easy, there's aways tomorrow to move on!

Monkey Mia is a rip off, Just back from a trip around the country, and the number of people who were p- off with MM was unreal. One couple I spoke to said they had to pay to get into the place, and their was no feeding. They come from the Tincan Bay area and you can see it for free any day.  Others that had been their in the past, said forget it, don`t go.

I'll go along with Philipn, another rip off IMHO, IF the feeding is on you need to be in the 16-24 year old group to get picked to feed a dolphin outside of that bracket and you do not stand a chance so if you can see them elsewhere then do that, and save all that fuel and entry fee's.

I feel the same way about Kakadu Nat Park, will never return there until they take the fee away like they did a few years ago, having said that, if you have never been then it is a must see IMHO, much better value for money than MM.

Rather than stand on the beach at MM, walk along the jetty a bit when they are being fed, must better place especially for photo's etc.

Bunbury WA is the place for dolphins in the bay, need to take the dolphin boat though, well worth it with dolphins diving and swimming around the boat.  See the dolphin centre there.  Also a mini museum.

As always there is a cost and not very cheap.

For cheap camping at Monkey Mia, suggest pm Yeoeleven for tips or a look at his blog for Monkey Mia...

We were talking to some people when we were going up the centre, their comment was " Kakadu, Kaka-don`t" .
