Towing with a pajero

We have a2013 Pajero which states in can tow 3ton with a ball weight under 180. It has been suggested by a dealer that he can bring the ball weight down by moving the water tank and battery to about 240 and then when we load it should be around 160. Any thoughts in this . It is a 21' van with standard suspension. Just concerned if it is not the right van for the vehicle
