staying the night at Iron Bark mine


biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinYep, free camping, they only want a donation,very proud I used my first dump, ezy pezzy,

  its an old abandoned town and mine, there's a bbq area, toilets, nice spot.,

oh and I remembered to take the breather cap off the hot water service this morning, had a beautiful hot shower.

Sorry forgot my lippy at home

Hi Fran, great pics and congrats on using the dump, Hazel did it for the first time a couple of months ago.

Can you give some more info on where you are, can't find iron bark mine, thanks

From the photos it looks like Iron Knob - an old iron ore mine operated by BHP - they closed it down and I think have reopened part of it. Its south west of Pt Augusta, north west of Whyalla and close to the Iron Baron mine (the township was bulldozed a few years back). Most of the mining has now moved to Iron Duke and Iron Prince south of Whyalla.
