what caravan jack to use

Hello,

Once again I am asking for experienced opinion on which jack is best for the front of a caravan.

I currently have what I suspect is the common "horizontally" wound handle to lift and lower the "A" frame. Hard to wind and takes all day....

I have considered the "trailermate" (17kg and $300), and also seen the "side-winder" type jack.

I am in my late 60's, and looking for comments / experiences with each, that might assist me in making a right decision.

Cheers, KB

Keiron.       Good morning I  had the same problem last year and my

lovely wife bought me the Trailermate and it's fantastic. Yes it's slightly

heavier than the standard caravan jack but it was worth it and it can be

used as a jack on your van to lift it to change a tyre if needed.Hope this helps

Regards.     Brian

I recently bought a Trail a mate jack and certainly does the job of its designed for, I carry the jack permanently fastened to the A frame, saves lifting it out of the boot.
Cheers

Hi

I have a trail a mate and have used the plate rather than the jockey wheel. Fabulous system.

Safe travels

I also have a Trail-A-Mate jack but have had a couple of issues with the hydraulics leaking which led me to put an electric jack on. This is the link to my post. thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t57461842/caravan-electric-jack/

I'd recommend the trailermate sidewinder. Had an issue today setting up our van where I couldn't get the jocky wheel under the A frame due to a sloping site. Reach for the sidewinder and sorted in seconds.
